1.  Copyright Policy

Authors retain full cAopyright of their published work. By submitting a manuscript to Global Frontier, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the article in all formats — both print and digital. This licence allows the journal to act as the article’s original publisher for all purposes of record, citation, and dissemination.

The journal does not claim ownership of the intellectual content of published articles. Authors remain free to use, reproduce, and build upon their own published work in any context, including in subsequent publications, teaching materials, presentations, and grant applications, provided that the original publication in Global Frontier is properly acknowledged.

Authors retain copyright. The journal holds a publishing licence only. Authors are free to share and reuse their own work at any time, without seeking permission from the journal.

1.1  What Authors Retain

Authors retain all of the following rights in their published work:

  • The right to reproduce and distribute the article for non-commercial purposes
  • The right to post the article on personal websites, institutional repositories, and academic networking platforms
  • The right to include the article in a thesis, dissertation, or book
  • The right to present the work at conferences and include it in teaching materials
  • The right to enter into further publishing arrangements (e.g. book chapters) with appropriate acknowledgement of original publication
  • The right to translate the work into other languages with appropriate attribution

1.2  What the Journal Holds

The journal holds a non-exclusive licence to publish, distribute, and archive the article in perpetuity. This means the journal may:

  • Publish the article in print and/or online
  • Distribute and provide access to the article through its website and partner platforms
  • Submit the article to academic indexing services and databases
  • Archive the article in long-term digital preservation repositories
  • Be cited as the original publisher of the article in any subsequent use or reuse

2.  Licensing

All articles published in Global Frontier are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). This is a widely recognised and author-friendly open access licence used by leading journals worldwide, including those listed by DOAJ, COPE, and the UGC.

2.1  What the CC BY 4.0 Licence Permits

Under the CC BY 4.0 licence, any person or organisation may freely do the following with published articles, for any purpose including commercial use:

The CC BY 4.0 licence does not require the permission of the author or the journal for any of the above uses, provided the attribution requirements are met.

2.2  Attribution Requirements

Anyone who uses, reproduces, or builds upon a published article must provide a complete attribution. A proper attribution must include:

  • The full names of all authors
  • The title of the article
  • The name of the journal: Global Frontier: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Politics
  • The volume, issue number, and year of publication
  • The article’s Digital Object Identifier (DOI) as a clickable or stated link
  • A statement that the article is published under CC BY 4.0, with a link to: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

3.  Self-Archiving Policy

Global Frontier supports the principles of open scholarship and strongly encourages authors to share and disseminate their published work as widely as possible. Authors may deposit and share their work freely, without seeking permission from the journal, in accordance with the terms set out below.

3.1  Versions Permitted for Deposit

Authors may deposit and share all versions of their manuscript. The table below sets out the permitted archiving arrangements for each version:

3.2  Where Authors May Deposit

Authors may deposit any version of their work in the following locations:

  • Institutional Repositories — Any university or research institution’s open access repository
  • Subject Repositories — Non-commercial subject repositories such as arXiv, SSRN, PubMed Central, Europe PMC, EconStor, and similar platforms
  • Personal & Departmental Websites — The author’s own personal academic website or their department’s webpage
  • Academic Networking Platforms — Platforms such as ResearchGate, Academia.edu, and similar academic sharing sites
  • Thesis and Dissertation Repositories — Institutional or national thesis databases where the article forms part of doctoral work

Authors are also permitted to share their published articles in book chapters, edited volumes, and other publications, provided that the original publication in Global Frontier is clearly acknowledged.

3.3  Requirements for Deposit

When depositing or sharing any version of a published article, authors must include the following:

  • The full citation of the published article, including journal name, volume, issue, year, and page numbers
  • The article’s DOI, provided as a link (e.g. https://doi.org/[DOI])
  • A statement that the article is published in Global Frontier: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Politics
  • For the Version of Record: a link to the article on the journal’s website
  • For accepted manuscripts deposited before the Version of Record is available: a note confirming that the final published version may differ

No embargo period applies. Authors may share the final published article (Version of Record) immediately upon online publication, without any waiting period.

4.  Digital Archiving & Preservation

Global Frontier is committed to the long-term preservation and permanent accessibility of all published content. The journal archives its digital content through recognised preservation systems to ensure that articles remain accessible in perpetuity, independent of changes to the journal’s publishing arrangements.

All articles published in Global Frontier are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through CrossRef at the time of publication. The DOI provides a permanent, stable link to the published article and ensures reliable citation and discoverability across academic databases and search systems.

  • All published content is archived in long-term digital preservation repositories
  • DOIs are registered with CrossRef for all published articles
  • Article metadata is submitted to academic indexing services and databases
  • Published content remains accessible even in the event of changes to the journal’s hosting arrangements

5.  Disclaimer

The views, opinions, arguments, and conclusions expressed in articles published in Global Frontier are those of the authors alone. They do not represent, and should not be attributed to, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, the Editorial Office, or any institution affiliated with the journal.

The journal and its editors take all reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of published content through the peer review process. However, the journal makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any published material. Readers are advised to exercise their own judgement and to independently verify information before relying on it.

Authors bear full legal and moral responsibility for the content of their published articles, including the accuracy of facts stated, the validity of arguments made, and the lawfulness of any material included. If any third-party claim, legal action, or demand for compensation arises in connection with a published article, the publisher will not be held liable.

The inclusion of any external links, references, or citations in published articles does not imply endorsement by the journal or its editors of the linked content, organisation, or viewpoint.
